Refinery Room was founded by Ashley Byers and James Deehan - two senior media practitioners who spent years leading teams, building agency practices, and delivering paid media strategy for some of Australia’s most recognised brands.
Between them, they’ve held Head of Paid Media and Head of Digital roles at independent agencies, worked with brands across retail, finance, FMCG, and technology, and seen firsthand the limitations of how the traditional model works.
Refinery Room is their answer to that. A model built on access, flexibility, and genuine partnership - designed to give brands and agencies the senior expertise they need, without the structures that have always got in the way.
